isshin has grabbed both yuzu and karin in an immediate, tight bear-hug and is bemoaning their obviously haunted house (really?) to the giant poster of his mom on the wall, which makes him think that isshin knows exactly who's in the house and what they're up to in true, nosy, former-shinigami-father fashion, so ichigo just. doesn't even bother hiding it, just gets up, grabs half the takoyaki remaining, stuffs it back into the take-out box (and grabs the bag of bonito flakes) so he can head upstairs.
he hears his dad wail something about how quickly their son has grown to the poster, and then he's stepping into his room and closing the door firmly behind him. )
Oy, asshole. If you broke anything, you're gluing it back together.
( he's both attached to the trophies and not, in that paradoxical way. his mom was there for every tournament, he has pictures of the two of them together holding onto them in what became almost a ritual afterwards. they used to go out and get ice cream, win or lose, whenever a tournament finished. but he also wouldn't be upset if renji broke them, because that's just what life is. they're fixable. it's the memories that are important more than the objects, really. )
@zangetsu
[ There is a very, very long pause as Renji weighs his options before he flicks his flip phone open again. ]
Alright I'm comin
[ And then, one sweaty, curse-filled minute later, a tremendous sound like twisted metal drowning out a howl of agony resounds through Ichigo's house.
Renji forgot about the fucking karate trophies. ]
