And even worse, this wasn't about the VR affair after all. Renji felt a flare of chagrin for being mistaken. Maybe he was the one who was overthinking it after all. He'd been ruminating over it all week, running the memory so often in his mind, trying to pick it apart and order his feelings and sift the honest ones from those that were generated by the station, that it strangely made it feel even more real.
